Join Us on July 14
On July 14, 2021, the SONiC community will come together for a unique virtual event — SONiC Plugfest 2021. Working together with Aviz Networks, Keysight has assembled an advisory board to help define test requirements and to evaluate SONiC performance.
Participants include key hyperscalers, ASIC makers, original design manufacturers (ODMs), and network equipment manufacturers (NEMs). Our vendor-neutral lab has tested forwarding performance, control plane conformance, congestion/buffer management, and more.
What is SONiC?
SONiC, the Linux of networking, is now an OCP project with growing ecosystem support from ASIC vendors, NEMs, and extended ecosystem participants providing management and application tools. With support from many of the industry’s most prominent leaders and well over four million ports in production, SONiC is a real and maturing option.
The Plugfest
Keysight and Aviz Networks have partnered with the community to drive this Plugfest as neutral third-party members. The neutral community members are responsible for defining the tests used in the Plugfest to test vendor network gear.
You will get access to:
- results from a neutral third-party for SONiC validation
- details to highlight your SONiC-enabled switches
- specifics to improve your SONiC implementation

End Users
As an end user of SONiC, you will get to:
- hear what current SONiC vendors are doing
- receive a neutral third-party test report on SONiC performance
- discuss your use cases within the community (optional)
- learn how to improve data center infrastructure acquisition efforts

- core committee to drive the Plugfest
- vendor-neutral
- Keysight and Aviz
With the active help and participation of the CAB members, we were able to define test cases that capture aspects of networking performance important to potential SONiC users and customers.
What are we Testing?
Over the last few months, our teams have put together an “open NOS verification suite for SONiC” that includes comprehensive test cases to validate SONiC readiness.
